Publishing Series

The editorial activities of the Ateneo were re-organised in the 1960’s, with the establishment of thematic series/collections, some holistic others more occasional/sporadic.

Among the first to be numbered into a series, were the Editions of the Ateneo Veneto (Edizioni dell’Ateneo Veneto) where during a period of ten years, some titles which were specifically artistic, were issued.

Later, the more temporary ones, closed after their first releases, such as the Collana di poesia nei dialetti veneti, which Ugo Fasolo collected the Anthology of poems in Venetian dialects, issued between 1961 and 1970 and the Premio Marta; the Ateneo Veneto’s Notebooks  (Quaderni dell’Ateneo Veneto) on various subjects from conference proceedings, library catalogues – often promoted or collected between 1966 and 1969, from the then Vice-President and theatre historian, Nicola Mangini.

Newest/Recent Series

Successively, some of these series such as Edizioni dell’Ateneo Veneto, and Venezia e le culture dell’Oriente were merged together into the Collana di Studi (collection of studies). In 1987, during the presidency of Alessandro Bettagno, an important study undertaken by Marino Zorzi on the La Libreria di San Marco was inaugurated. Since then, another thirteen titles have been issued including wide ranging studies, research work, monographs, novels and essays.

Another new series is the Ricerche Storiche (historical research) that gathers together all historical publications – literally speaking, as well as art and literature – that are results of original research, important conference proceedings (such as Paolo Sarpi or Daniele Manin) and a series of institutional conferences. Included within the recent series of Ateneo Veneto libri, reprints such as the Guida alle opere d’arte della Scuola di San Fantin and the Itinerari per Venezia e Mestre, as well as some multimedia works such as, two musical scores by Claudio Ambrosini.
